Killara Estate Winery Yarra Valley. History
Finally, Palazzo family purchased the Killara Estate in 1987. It was one of the largest private estates in Yarra Valley. The estate is situated on the banks of the Yarra River at 1200 acres. It has a long history.
Firstly, in the late 19th century the owner of the estate was David Mitchell. Secondly, in 1883 David Syme purchased the property. He made a lot of improvements and named the property later Killara Estate. David was growing orchards on 80 acres. His apples received the highest prices in London.
Finally, today Leo and Gina Palazzo promote their Killara Estate Winery Yarra Valley. Also their Killara Estate Vineyard. And their Racers & Rascals Cafe. The couple has grown their business predominantly by words of mouth. Both are proud of Killara Estate.
